A new European regulation relating to the marketing of products linked to deforestation and forest degradation will repeal the European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR). Now it is also about ensuring that the wood does not come from deforested or degraded land. And it must be justified, by declaring the geographical coordinates of the origin and by justifying the conclusions of the due diligence.
Controls are also being reinforced with the verification of declarations through satellite observations and a digital database on goods and products placed on the EU market (geographic coordinates and country of production).
